Welcome to School Of Energy, Environment And Natural Resources In the Sixth Five Year Plan, the Madurai Kamaraj University started a new School on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources supported by University Grants Commission and Tamil Nadu Government in 1981 with a view to carry out teaching, research and extension activities on these socially relevant and vital areas having an interdisciplinary approach with the faculty members drawn from different relevant disciplines like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Engineering. This interdisciplinary School thus bestows its interest in looking at ways and means of harnessing natural resources leaving a clean and healthy environment leading to development for which the foremost requirement comes from Energy. This school has grown rapidly to become a multidisciplinary department as a full-fledged, self-supporting, post-graduate, research department and creates multidisciplinary programmes through our research centre
